Drinking a smoothie every day can change your life in the most unexpected ways.

Ever since I began my journey towards higher levels of energy and productivity, a smoothie has been my faithful companion. And for a good reason. In this article, I will share some of the top benefits I experienced by blending some of the healthiest ingredients and ingesting them in the form of a marvelous mixture almost every day.

Here are some of the top benefits of drinking a smoothie daily:

1. A smoothie a day keeps the doctor away

I’m sure you’ve heard of the adage about the apple. But an apple or any single healthy ingredient cannot possibly compare to a powerful smoothie. If you do it right you can put as many as 15 different ingredients in your smoothie and experience levels of energy far beyond what you thought was possible.

2. It only takes 5 minutes to prepare a smoothie

You may think that making a smoothie takes a lot of work but if you set things right and develop an unbreakable smoothie habit the whole thing becomes more or less automatic. If you have all the ingredients on hand stored in the same place every time. And if you have a decent easily cleanable blender you can cut your smoothie production time down to 5 minutes or less. Develop your system. It will be worth it.

3. You can put some of the most healthy ingredients ever in a single mixture

Maybe it’s the old Alchemist in me but I always like to mix things up to create some kind of an elixir. Some people go for the taste but for me, it’s all about the benefits. Here are some of the top ingredients you should put in your smoothie to get your energy to a whole new level:

  • Moringa powder
  • Wheatgrass powder
  • Fresh spinach leaves
  • Freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • Micronized Creatine
  • Wheat protein powder
  • Pure cacao powder
  • Chia seeds
  • A nice chunk of ginger
  • Cinnamon powder
  • Kale
  • Some kind of sweet fruit to make it more palatable

I rarely change the recipe. By keeping things the same I don’t have to overburden my mental RAM by constantly plotting to create another exotic smoothie.

4. A smoothie keeps you hydrated and energized throughout the day

Most people walk around for the whole day dehydrated and then they complain about headaches and low energy levels. This is not for you. How about a huge blender bottle filled with a delicious smoothie right by your side? If you ever watched Tony Robbins you saw him carrying a bottle filled with wheatgrass juice. And it’s for a good reason. If you have to host a 12h per day seminar for 3 days straight you need a lot of energy. Smoothie is also a good part of a low-carb diet. It releases the carbs gradually which helps you to maintain high, sustainable levels of energy throughout the day.

5. A smoothie is the best delivery system for healthy greens

Everyone is crazy about green foods these days. They have all the vitamins and minerals that make you live longer, stay happier, and detoxify your body. But munching on kale and wheatgrass for the whole day it’s not your idea of fun. Believe me, I tried it and felt like a panda gorging on eucalyptus for 10 hours straight. Fortunately, a good blender provides you with an opportunity to throw in all the healthiest greens in one place and turn them into an easily digestible Fountain of Youth in a matter of seconds.

6. A smoothie habit is indispensable for high-performing athletes

99% of high-performing athletes are drinking at least one smoothie per day. Most of the time it’s about high levels of protein and some creatine that will help to regenerate the body after an intense workout. In the office environment of today, we could call ourselves corporate athletes because business is the most competitive game there is. Wouldn’t it make sense to treat your body as an athlete would? You bet!

7. Your daily smoothie will provide you with all the vitamins and minerals you need

Most people are deficient in vitamins and minerals necessary for the proper functioning of the mind and body. By eating processed foods we deprive ourselves of opportunities for natural nutrition that would cover these needs. I take supplements like Omega-3 fish oil, the maca root extract vitamin B complex zinc, and magnesium. Additionally, I have one super green smoothie which is filled with vitamin C and other ingredients that cover my nutritional needs.

8. A healthy green smoothie will detox your body

I once watched a documentary where they put a group of people into a detox camp. For two weeks straight these poor bastards couldn’t eat any candy (although some of them smuggled some treats inside). No alcohol, no meat, no coffee. Just veg. The researchers measured their body stats before and after the experiment. It turned out that the detox made them way younger and healthier. You can’t get the same effects in your daily life, but if every day you drink a smoothie made of kale, spinach, lemon juice, pure cacao powder, cinnamon, creatine, and chia seeds; my friend you’ll be treating this body like a temple.

9. You can take your smoothie anywhere and feel healthy

When it’s time to hit the road it’s extremely difficult to obtain healthy foods. The best thing airports and train stations can serve you is a pack of peanuts. So take your smoothie on the road and don’t depend on fast foods and processed carbs to get you to your destination. You should just remember to empty your blender bottle before going through security. Otherwise, they may ask you to pour all your green gold into the trash.

10. If you’re lazy in the morning you can prepare your smoothie in the evening and store it for the next day

If you don’t have time for a morning smoothie you don’t have a life. But I understand, that sometimes mornings can be hectic. But you can still create your smoothie the night before. It’s true, as soon as you make it it will start slowly losing its nutritional value. But still, drinking it the next day it’s much better than not drinking it at all. You need a blender bottle or a mason jar where the amount of oxygen at the top of the bottle is kept to a minimum. Pull your smoothie to the very top so there’s almost no air left inside and store it in the fridge. In the morning it’ll be still good to go.
